Hardwood for the shear strip

Hi everyone,

I used mohagony for my shear strip and it proved to be extremely helpful. I am building a Return and I didn't had to use a cheater strip since the shear strip allowed be to use clamps between the strip I am gluing and the shear strip in the bow and stern section. I can only recommend this approach to anyone. If I would have used western red cedar, it would have been pretty badly crushed by now. The mohagony strip was ~1/2".
