: Hi John,
: I placed wooden L-blocks along the shear. The L shape was customized to match
: the angle of the shear strip for each form. The Ls were held in place by 2
: screws. I used oversize holes in the forms, which allowed me sufficient
: room for adjustments to get a nice looking shear line. My shear never
: moved (at least to this point and I am about 80% done with the hull. For
: the fairing process I plan on hotgluing small blocks of cedar to the shear
: and form. This has actually good holding power. I orient the grains along
: the circumference of the form, i.e. it splits easily when I want to get it
: off before I finish up the deck. It will make removing the forms easier.

Thanks Spidey, Nick and Andreas.
Andreas, I like the way you use the cedar blocks to glue the haul and then split it away from the forms. I mentioned awhile back that in the work I use to do, we used a super glue accelator to speed the setting time. I can't find a supplier as of yet but I think it would be great for strip building for those hard to hold places. A big glob of super glue that might take hours to set up would fry right before your eyes when sprayed with this stuff. We acutally made fillets out of superglue. The down side is it sands like cement.
I was just looking at an old empty bottle of the accelator and I found an address so small that I had to use a magnifying glass to see it. It is ----------- PACER TECHNOLOGY
