I'm intrigued by your jig... is that a 2 X 6 it's made from? The 1/2" groove looks to be about 1 1/2" from the fence? Wouldn't the effective angel of the cutting edge change as you're planing the stock down? OOPS... effective angle I mean... not that we couldn't all use an effective angel, too.
