: Jet Tools and Delta both make small and fairly inexpensive[200-300 dollars],
: but affective dust collectors. They are hooked up to one or two tools at a
: time, and can be rolled around the shop. I got one a few weeks ago and
: love it. The difference in the shop is wonderful.
An el cheapo friend of mine once rig up a dust collection set with plastic pipes a cloth bag, a steel trash can, and a junk kichen range hood he picked up off the street. He cut a hole in the trash can top, sticked a pipe into the holes and glue and seal the edges. He cut a hole on the side of the trash can and wield the hood to the side (with a lot of modification with a tin snip. The cloth bag (a canvas bag from a sack of 50 lbs rice) became the filter. I guess you have to use a lot of imagination to what he did, but it works for a long time.
