It's very important that you not use tape on the station edges to allow maximum holding power for the hot glue. Another trick to hold a difficult spot is to apply a bridge of scrap strip with hot glue running from the dried strips onto the new strip to help hold it in place. Later use a chisel to cut off the external bridge strip and scrape off the hot glue.

Prefitting strips is important so you are certain to remove small daubs of hot glue that might be in the way of a tight fit.

I hope you don't convert Nick or you'll be able to make your boats faster.
