My self designed kayak using the BearBack computer program isn't the best design for stripping,,I think,, at least for me stripping my first boat. The problem seem to come from the sharp curve from the side of the haul to the bottom. Most of the well designed kayak's have seem to have a smoother flow of haul lines. The pressure of clamping has lifted the haul up 1/4" from the shear at section 2, but I don't think that will hurt anything.(I just noticed it yesterday and couldn't believe my eyes). I have also had to reshape sections 3 and 4 with wood and masking tape to take the strips better but I think everything will turn out just fine. This is the reason why you should stick to well designed and proven plans. I do find that tackling these problems are fun for me.
Merry Christmas everyone,
John
