I know how you feel, Ben. I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since I read the story. Just suppose Mart, my unknown neighbor, had stopped by after glimpsing me working on my kayak . . . We could have talked, found common ground (we were both EE's, apparently) and I might well have gone on the kayak expedition with them. Speculation, uncertainty, what-ifs, . . .
