: I had a design I had created based on some offsets and drawings in David
: Zimmerly's 'Qajaq' which were just sitting around doing nothing. Since it
: is not realy my design I figured I should just give away the plans.

Good work Nick! The Akun Island kayak is very attractive. A highly specialized kayak designed for the hunt.It has a high top speed if one strong enough to get it there.
The Atka Island kayak (as per Zimmerly LM 2-14886) is my choice as it is 2.3 ft shorter and 3.25" wider, a very fine kayak , Wolfgang Bricnk based his book "The Aleutian Kayak" on this boat. For its width it is stable especially when the paddler and gear weighs 180 lbs.
