: remove that coat of dust use the flat of your hand. Yeah, I know that
: sounds daft. But, I've never liked tack cloths so I've used this trick on
: furniture and boats. You'd think the oils on your skin would creat a
: problem, but I've never found it to be so. Perhaps they've already been
: lost by handling the wood and working in the dust. On the plus side, your
: hand is, well, always handy, its renewable (wipe it on your pants when it
: gets clogged) and lint free!

I value all of the advice that I recieved from my question and I thank everyone, but somehow your suggestion has some kind of down home quality to it. I LIKE IT! After all of these years of marrage, my bride doesn't even ask what the stain is on my pants any more when I throw them in the laundry. What she dosen't know won't hurt her.

Just one last question. Do I wash my hands first? or somehow just fluff them?

Seriously folks, this aint rocket science. we are just trying to have a good time and find out what works. This is just a little speed bump in my building progress. But for the real techno-weenies out there, my daughter is a sales rep for 3M and I'll have her contact the lab folks and find out they use to make them sticky.
