That is exactly what I did on my Guillemot S&G (from 17'plus to 15'6"- worked like a charm. I think it should work with about any design, but don't hold me responsible if you're going to be cutting up expensive marine plywood (I was using luaun and was willing to risk a few $8 sheets).
