I think that was it. I played around a lot with different stripe patterns till I found one I liked that was easy to cut and assemble. I used standard thickness strips and just glued the sides together. I would have liked to glue up thicker than 1/4" and saw them down to size but wasn't able to get a good cut with my saw.

Hows yours comming along? I'm interested in what method you used for the glue-up on the pattern.
