I'd expect that since hide glue softens with heat, it's not what you want holding your deck strips together when you're paddling on a hot day. The kayak's not likely to fall apart, but if it gets hot enough you'd probably get some shifting and then some stress marks in the glass at the seams. It's just a hypothesis, but I don't think I'd want to labor that long and hard to get the empirical evidence. ;)
