Well, Things have been going alot slower than I wanted due to illness through the holidays. Spent most of my days off sick in bed instead of working on my North Star. I would just like to thank everyone on the board for the information that they shared as it has helped me get past a couple of hurdles. Being my first try at building a kayak it has been enjoyable so far.
During my learning curve it seems that when I add a strip to one side I learn something new so when the same strip goes on the other side it is easier. I have also learned how delicate cove & bead can be. So the end results are I'll only allow people to view the good side when it's finished. I should be starting on stripping from the keel by the end of the weekend. I do have one question. Is it typical to get the white residue from the titebond II?
It doesn't appear to hurt anything as it sands off easily. I'm stripping in a rather cool garage which only gets passive heat from my wood stove in another room when I leave the door open. I hope this doesn't affect the quality of the glue joint.
