Sharp paper in coarse grits makes sanding fast. I started the inside with 50 grit belts I ripped into pieces. The backing was very stiff so it didn't dig in but could conform to concave surfaces. I used a piece of foam for a backing in the open areas. Wrapped around a scrap of strip, I got way into the ends.
After you sand the inside with 50, you can move to 60, then 80 and you're done.
These very coarse grits produce less irritating dust too.
