: 2nd question: If I am planning to use some wood flour and epxoy to fill a
: couple of gaps, wouldn't it make sense to do my seal-coat on the hull
: first and fill in the gaps with flour/epoxy later? If I use the
: flour/epoxy first, won't it dis-color the hull?
If you are going to use filler, I would recommend that you use a water based filler rather than wood flour/epoxy. Durams water putty can be colored with the addition of wood flour or stain. Water based fillers are very soft, sand beautifully and won't stain the adjacent wood. Experiment and try different coloring agents. You can come very close to matching color, but remember, mix your color lighter than the wood because it will darken when saturated with epoxy. IMHO, it is best to stay away from epoxy based fillers unless you have structural considerations.
