Hi Dale,
I have only used it as veneer. Depending on the piece and grain, it can be awesome. I am going to try some as veneer on one of our "Glas-Ply" decks this spring. Like many hardwoods, it is probably a pain to bend, but try thinner strips. This will make up for the heavier weight. Some of the tropical woods glue better with the urethane glues than with the yellow wood glues. I wouldn't worry about resin bonding unless you do a whole deck. It shouldn't be that much different than the Padauk, Purpleheart, etc. that some have used.
Per my post lower on the BBS, I am going to try some Monkeypod wood. I also have 100 board feet each of Goncalo Alves and Bocote coming that may find their way onto a yak somewhere. Go for it!!

: I was wondering if any of you have worked with bubinga.
: If so, does it bend easily when cut in strips or does it crack or splinter?
: Does glue and resin bond to it easily without any special preparations?
: Does it look good when it's finished? It's hard to tell what the final color
: of some woods will look like before their finished with resin and varnish.
: Thanks,
: Dale
