My Guillemot Expedition Single is seaworthy. I have had her out in the Gulf at Pensacola several times, and here in New Orleans' Lake Ponchatrane. She performes well, I guess, but how would I know? I'm new to this sport and there are few people here into kayaking. Although I get nothing but complements, I am not satisfied with the finish on the epoxy as of yet. I therefore have not as of yet placed the first coat of marine varnish. My question is, am I doing any long term harm to my kayak by using her prior to varnishing? I should have her ready to varnish within the month. Till then I would like to continue using her on weekends. I'll send Nick photos to post at his discression when I am satisfied with the finish.
