I agree. Wrap the ribs all the way around to make complete rings spaced every 6 to 9 inches. You could use really thin strips of wood wrapped multiple times to eliminate steaming. Hold the spacing with longitudinal stringers every 4 inches and then wrap diagonally with Kevlar. Shrinkwrap the whole thing in dacron with just one seam at the centerline of the deck. Would be slick as snot. You should be able to keep the boat below 20 pounds.
