I think I'd leave the ribs on the inside, for hydrodynamics' sake. Besides, the stringers aren't much thicker than 1/4" strips, so you're really not changing the beam. If you wanted the beam the same as the forms, just notch the forms for the stringers and keep the ribs inside them.

Or, if you're using the forms directly for rib forms, cut them down 1/4"--a block plane might work?!

Heck, what's 3/4" of extra beam?!
