You should have no problem stretching the Great Auk...You can just stretch your forms a little. I would concider stretching the middle more than the ends. Nick's formulas will help. If you want to use the same forms, try to keep the stem forms unchanged.

As for speed. It should be capable of going as fast as you can paddle it. The Night Heron is Narrower and lighter so you could paddle it faster. Nick can give you more info.
