:It’s of my own design using the Bearboat program. Lgth-17’6.5”, wdth-24” disp. Is about 30lbs. more than normal to accommodate the gear. I designed it to be stable in calm waters and to track very straight (more time holding the rod, hopefully). It looks more like a Great Auk than anything does. There’s plenty of deck and interior storage. I plan to take some pictures and scan them to post soon. I’m guessing the water in an 8” long well will be about 2 gal. @ 16 lbs. And am considering a baffle running with the centerline of the boat to help the slosh effect.
On the drive to work this am I pondered the same problem. I have put
: quantities of fish on deck, dragged them to the side and behind, and
: stuffed them under my knees; all unsatisfactory solutions.
: I was imagining some barge to tow along. Maybe an inflatable or a Mini-Auk. I
: am intimidated by the SOF process, so maybe I'll make something like that.
: I have reservations about the accessibility of a rear hatch (expecially when
: wrestling a decent fish in marginal conditions). I don't think the weight
: of a flooded compartment is a direct problem, but wouldn't the lack of
: bouyancy behind affect the trim and raise the bow?
: Its nice to see a fishing issue on this board.
