Well I epoxied the deck on my CLC s&g. It is being held down with strapping tape as it dries. Plans called for bronze nails every 4 inches along shear clamp. I've read a few posts about not needing them but two things scare me.. 1)if the angle I planed on the tops of the shear clamps wasn't perfect the mating surface will be less than desirable for a strong bond. and 2) I thickened the epoxy with wood flour instead of the prescribed cab-o-sil (stronger??) will this weaken the bond any? the strapping tapes remain until I am confident that removal won't bring on any strange hull-to-shear pannel seperating noises OR I chicken out and add the bronze ring nails. any comments will be appreciated. -dave
