Sounds a bit heavy. Weigh a sample, figure out the weight per square foot, and multiply that number by about 50. That should put you in the ballpark for a finished boat weight. Since they make successful (in a heavy, floppy sort of way)boats out of polyethelene, you should be able to do one in Lexan, which I think is stiffer. IF, that is, you can solve the problems, which include:
1) Can you either get stock in boat lengths, or make astheticaly successful joints?
2) What would that much Lexan cost?
It would be a great thing if you made it work; imagine having a cool see-through boat with no hateful glassing, sanding, or varnishing.
