I used a bandsaw with my first boat, an old Makita w/112" blade. The guide on this saw only lowers to about 3" above the table. So the blade tended to track. This gave me inconsistant strip thicknesses and made every step afterwards MUCH more difficult. I've gang-ripped more strips since then with my table saw and like the speed and accuracy of ripping two strips at a time. Many builders used bandsaws with success and I'm sure with proper set-ups. My opinion proper set-up is a must. Take as much time as you need to do that and your project will go alot smoother. Good ripping!
