If I adjust the blocks on my Delta 14 like that, the blade will not track straight. I rip a piece half way down the center of a piece of straight grain wood and then adjust the blocks the blocks side to side to make it track straight with just enough play to keep it from binding. Once adjusted correctly, I can wear out several blades without touching the adjustment and it still tracks straight. But it does have more pressure on one side than the other to maintain this. It's been so long ago that I had to adjust it that I would have to start all over by trial and error to remember which way to adjust move the blocks.

I don't know if this is true of all bandsaws, but it certainly is for mine.
