I have not paddled a Night Heron, nor have had much experience in the OI...... ....so...I cannot comment upon performance.
However, I am building an OI and fit into one perfectly. I am 5' 10", 225 lbs. The OI fits beautifully, and has a surprising great initial stability. I wear size 12 shoes, and plan to raise a few forms about 1/2" for some extra room. Both boats are beauties to look at!
Also, check out a search for both boats in the archives...found them to be really helpful. If you haven't yet had the opportunity...paddle each one....the answer will come to you. I felt like I 'had arrived' when I paddled the OI.
Good luck...am sure you cannot go wrong with either boat.
