: If you have two more of the same kind of graduated cup, check by pouring up
: to the 5 line three times on one cup, pouring into the second each time.
: You should be up to the 15 line. The graduations can be off quite a bit
: depending on where you got the cups. Any amount the graduations are off,
: it will result in much more error by pouring the hardner in first.
I'll take a look at that later today. I dont want to say where I got the cups, because it is a very reputable outfit and I'm sure it isnt thier fault.
: A putty knife followed by solvent is less messy. One other thought. In your
: efforts to cure it with heat, you may have it softened by heat. Let it
: cool down before trashing it.
Ive seen that happen before, too. Actually I think its going to go off. It isnr nearly soft enough to get very far with a scraper. The smaller hatch is looking OK, and it was the same batch. At the very least I'll be able to use the hatches while making new ones. The proof will be in the sanding, if it gums up the paper too bad then I'll know it's not cured.
In addition to the earlier comments about temperature, the epoxy also will continue to cure for a very long time, months. I think that even if the mix is just a little more off than the 10% allowed (System-3 book) then this "post-cureing cure" will help out. I wont trash them for several months at least, and if there are continued problems I'll put 'em up for comment.
