I just finished filling in the cockpit recess on my GB and was planning on glassing the deck next and building the coaming afterward. I want to fillet and tape the coaming to the deck and then bury the coaming tape with the remaining fill coats I'll be applying to the deck. My concern is that I won't be able to finish building the coaming while the deck epoxy is still green and I'll have to settle for the sanding/mechanical bond thing between fill coats. (I'm using MAS w/slow hardener so blush isn't an issue). Would it be preferable to build the coaming before glassing in this case? (there was a recent thread on this, but I don't think it specifically addressed the fill coat/chemical bond aspect.)
Much obliged,
Jim
