Jim,
No right or wrong on this one. Mostly personal choice. I have done it both ways. I prefer glassing it first. Then building the combing. Glassing first. makes for glass that hugs the boat contour al lthe way to the combing wall.The same with the combing wall which stays all the way to the deck line. If you want extra strength put the glass from the combing wall out onto the recess. It easier to tack that in at the intersection with smaller pieces rather then try to dart the whole thing coming from the other direction.
