: I am building a strongback of the Ted Moore design since it is recommended
: for multiple use. Need I make any adaptation to use it in making a nick
: shade design?
Hi Scott
It depends on how elaborate you wish to get in your workbench. I have incorporated Mr. Moore's design into my workbench, with a couple of mod's and plan on using it for a multitude of boats. Nick's plans use the internal strongback, and I will use that, but, it will be mounted over the strongbench I've built. However, I'm sure you can build the forms and "external" extentions that would be needed to build Nick's designs over the external strongback. You just have to keep all things square and inline.
In the sketch I have used the brackets I built for the Walrus forms, and merely added a fork type upright to work with the "internal" strongback that Nick's forms are designed for. I feel this bench, built in this fashion, will support about any type of construction style I wish to use. Hope this helps.
Sorry about the quality of pics. on the album. That darn Polaroid...
