If it doesn't go away from venting with open hatches, there may be mildew growing in the wood itself. I saw this on a CLC a few years ago that had no rear hatch. The builder installed a hatch, thoroughly dried out the boat, and refinished the exterior. The problem didn't recur, and it has been several years.
