: Hi,
: When I started my 12'x 28" kayak I wasn't really in to all of the
: details that can go into a kayak. I just wanted a plain boat I could plunk
: around in. I keep getting sucked into more details like rolling and trying
: to make it pretty. I am debating wheather to put a lip on my rather large
: coaming 2'x3' for a skirt later on, because a 28" wide kayak may be
: too hard to roll anyway. What's your thoughts about this? Thanks.
: John
Thanks to all, for all of the good answers I received here. I will build a coaming lip now. This is just what I need to hear.
Hitman, I have a nice looking double bladed kayak paddle my daughters gave me for Christmas and I have it setting beside me so I can look at it now and then.
Paul, thanks for the clever tips for building the lip. I have a router, and the rope is clever.
Russ, thanks for all of the help you have given me for my BWCA trip. You have taken a lot of time with me and I really appreciate it. I got my permit for Lake 1 entry point 30 over the internet and two maps going to Fishdance Lake. Now I am thinking about working my way on to Mailberg Lake and beyound and that will take another map. I was told that the "W" maps didn't have Longitude and Latitude markings so I got the McKenzie Maps which do. With a GPS I can't get lost, can't get lost, can't get.....
Thanks,John
