Greetings all..

As still a relative newcomer to the list (and building my first kayak stripper) I thought I'd drop an update on the progress of my Redfish Silver. All-in-all everything has progressed well in the last few weeks. I finished stripping the hull a week ago and completed fairing and final sanding thursday night. (The hull is cedar with a pine accent 1 course below the sheer line.) The time I spent on the setup truly paid off as she is fair and has a true line. This morning after cleaning my shop and bringing the temperature up to 60(still cold in Idaho)I layed on 6 oz glass. All went extremely well and I will apply a second coat of epoxy later this afternoon and one early tomorrow morning.

I'm looking forward to doing the deck and have redwood, pine and cedar to develop a pleasing design... I am awaiting delivery of some 3" mahagony veneer to build the laminated coaming from. Should arrive thursday or friday. My coaming form for the lamination is all constructed so all should progress quicly once the wood arrives..

Still deciding what to do for the seat. I am contemplating making a veneer lamination for a backrest and then using minicell on that as well as the bottom... Time will tell.. Also still contemplating whose footbraces to use....
