Thats a good idea. It's redwood, two laminations of 5/8" thick each, and really dry. I can cobble up a steamer, but how long do I cook it? Will the polyurethane glue give up?

: You might try steaming it and bending it into a straighter shape. If you have
: no steamer, try wrapping a rag around it and pouring boiling water over
: this area. You can also try steaming with a clothes iron. Who knows, you
: might even get it back to where you want it.

: Otherwise, finish shaping it and give it a minimal "finishing". You
: don't need to polish this one and give it 5 coats of varnish.
