Probably stronger. Not sure on lighter. Depends on how many stringers you put in and what they are made of. I really like these boats though. Someday I'll have to take this on, but will need to figure out how to machine the parts or find suitable replacements off the shelf. Shawn Baker keeps talking along the lines of a foldable too. Being able to pack a boat up and take it with you on a plane, train or bus would be too cool! Being able to do so without the price tag of a commercial foldable would be even better :-)
