When I glassed the hull of my GB I followed the Newfound Woodworks fiberglassing video (Michael V., by the way, missed his true calling in Hollywood . Anyway, I put a nice even precoat on the hull prior to laying out the glass and it worked like a charm. Two months have passed and I just precoated the deck, but obviously got a little too cocky and it's kind of globby and uneven in areas. My question is whether I should just go ahead and glass 'er up as usual, figuring any differences in the film thickness will be hidden under the weave or whether I should try to carefully scrape any thick areas with a cabinet scraper prior to laying out the glass. I've pretty much ruled out sanding because I understand that can result in some uneven splotches of color that won't disappear under subsequent coats of epoxy. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
