Dave,
Almost everything went smooth building the QC. However, the hot glue didn't hold the temp. brace in place very well. It popped off while my my inside seams were drying. Luck was on my side, and I saw it and was able to fix it before any damage was done. I ended up stitching it down with wire, and I will use wire only next time on it.
If you bought the full kit, use the fiberglass sparingly. I barely had a square inch left over. Also, get ready to buy more epoxy. The 1 !/2 gallons of expoxy with the kit wasn't even close to enough. I ended up using over 2 gallons, and my boat still came out at the advertised weight.
The instructions call for one coat of epoxy on the exterior and interior top and sides, but I did two and am glad.
Get ready to sand your ass off.
Don't have any doubts about the performance of this boat. It's great.
Take it easy,
Duane
