I offered this same advice on a thread in response to John Monroe's questions about spray skirts, but I'll offer it here too. I have a nylon entry level sprayskirt from Whetstone.com that I've used on a Pygmy Tern and Osprey Double. They are snug fits; if the coamings were any larger, they wouldn't fit. But fit they do. I've looked at SnapDragon and other good quality skirts, and IMHO, the whetstone is a better skirt for less money. Top quality materials and construction, complete with griploc grippy rubber rim, a particularly nice grab handle, a fiberglass bar to give the deck some arc, and even a few things like bungee tighteners that are some of the newest dodads in mountaineering gear. They make a supplex (breathable, like gortex) model for a higher but still reasonable price, although I haven't figured out if it would fit a Pygmy cockpit. For $15 or so, they'll custom make any of their models. Their neoprene decks, as someone else mentioned, would have to be made custom for a Pygmy; they look equally excellent. I also have a Harmony sprayskirt that is very good, made out of a breathable supplex-type material. It's available through REI. But its more expensive, and I find that although it fits, the placement of the tunnel relative to the seat is not ideal. You can get a custom Whetstone deck for what the Harmony would cost, and it would be an as good or a better product. My input, for what it's worth. Good luck building the Tern.
