built-in pump

I am about to build a strip kayak (North Star, Laughing Loon, design). I am considering a built-in pump and recessed compass mount as accessaries. Has anyone added these to their boat? Any plans, materials, building ideas,or suggestions? I don't seem to find anything on the net. Need to know positioning, makes and models, etc.
