I have a Georgian Bay in construction and would like more information on both of those issues. I say the recent recessed compass post but I don't want a puddle place on my deck, so I expect to just mount it on top. The idea to mount it under plexiglass had too many complications for me.

Since I've been in construction I've become a daily reader of the BB and appreciate the knowledgeable contributions.
