: This looks like a good option to Varnish. I varnished my first boat and it
: was a very lengthy process that I did not enjoy. I found the set up time
: so fast on the varnish that (with my skills) drips & runs were almost
: unavoidable. Did you find that the same is true with this stuff? It sounds
: like sanding between coats is not needed? Did you find this to be true?
: Any fumes from this product? Do you have an idea of how much is needed
: need to cover one 17' yak? How many coats to get good UV filter?
: sorry for all the questions, but I am about half way done with my second boat
: and this may be the UV protection option I am looking for.
: I am never varnishing again!

I haven't used it on the boat, weather's still a bit cold. It doesn't require sanding between coats and since it dries so quickly, little dust will stick as it's drying. It's odorless, and they say 3-4 coats is sufficient for 5 years of UV protection. I'll probably put 4-5 on, with just the last coat getting the cross-link additive. I would expect 1 to 1.5 quarts would do a typical boat. It costs the same as any good varnish and buying a gallon was certainly overkill but it has a long shelf life according to their tech guy so it'll be around when I do another boat.
