I wonder whether 24 hrs. could be cut out of the process with the use of moisture-cure polyurethane adhesives, such as Gorilla Glue? Seems like the moisture in the wood would then be as asset rather than a liability. I think Eric Schade mentioned recently that he likes polyurethane glue exclusively for hulls. I'm using it without steam on the current project, putting just a dot every 6 in. between strips, and it seems to work better than yellow glue in my alfresco "shop". It foams up (by only a factor of 2 or 3), but it trims easily and has a truly tenacious grip. Has anyone used it and had problems later with sanding and fairing? Or anything else?
