Does anyone know how to construct a minicell backrest like the one Redfish Kayaks build? I can't tell from the pictures how it's constructed or what is supporting it. Is it on a glued minicell "pedistal"? Does it rest against the coaming? What keeps it in place during a wet re-entry? I currently have a custom molded fiberglass seat, covered with 1/16" neoprene and minicell carved hipbraces- so I don't have cheekplates to attach a backrest to. While my current seat is VERY comfortable as is, I'm afraid that on longer paddles I might miss a backrest. I suppose I could just buy one of their seats to find out- but half the fun (at least) is building it myself. Thanks!
