: Does anyone know how to construct a minicell backrest like the one Redfish
: Kayaks build? I can't tell from the pictures how it's constructed or what
: is supporting it. Is it on a glued minicell "pedistal"? Does it
: rest against the coaming? What keeps it in place during a wet re-entry? I
: currently have a custom molded fiberglass seat, covered with 1/16"
: neoprene and minicell carved hipbraces- so I don't have cheekplates to
: attach a backrest to. While my current seat is VERY comfortable as is, I'm
: afraid that on longer paddles I might miss a backrest. I suppose I could
: just buy one of their seats to find out- but half the fun (at least) is
: building it myself. Thanks!

if you like the color green try a army surplus a.l.i.c.e. back pad. its the same thing as a kayak back rest. used $10.00. new $20.00. i'm thinking of useing one these on my own boat.
good luck on the search
