I like the happy bottom pad availible from CLC in concert with a backband. it is cheap light and comfortable.

As far as a rudder is concerned go to your local kayak shop look at what's on the boats there and find one you like. The shop will be able to get you one of anything that's on a boat they carry.

As the above poster I have had good luck with kajak sport products.
