You may need to switch to all grain, It is WAY cheaper and really not that hard to do, just takes a little more time. I'm only spending about $10 for a 5 gal. batch. $7 for 10lbs grain, and $3 or so for the hops, and I haven't paid for yeast for a couple of years, I continue a culture using slants in the fridge, also very easy to do. Of course, just like boat building, you don't count the cost of the tools in the price of the batch now do you?!!
