Yes, it was George. As I recall it was a discussion of the coatings on E and S glass. I think George said the coatings assist in the resin bond with the glass and they may deteriorate after a while compromising the bond. There amy have been some indication that the glass itself is damaged by water vapor. George didn't appear to have any idea whether this damage was significant, which probably means noone has done any testing to determine the extent of the weakening, or George would know.

As for resin, I was looking over some old issues of "The Boatbuilder" (published by the Gougeon Bros.)in which they wrote of testing some of their product (105, 206 & 207) that had sat on the shelf for ten years. They found that the resin was more viscious and thus harder to mix thouroughly, but when properly mixed was a little stronger than fresh product. Once the container is opened and exposed to the air the hardeners will darken with age going from a light reddish tinge to a brown. You wouldn't want to use these over a hull to be varnished.
