If you look at the "Additions 2000" section of your instruction book for the North Star you will also find a very clear description of this technique. I use it to make a crisp edge on the abrasion strip of polypropylene cloth I add to my keel at the stems.

What are you using it for? Am I correct in thinking you want to use this to trim the edge of your, below the water level, second layer of glass?

If so, forget it! Just do a fresh trim of the cloth edge and you'll be just fine.

Don't waste time with this. You'll just feather the edge with your RO sander during your rough sanding of the hull.
