Actually, this had cured for a couple of weeks. But I didnt rough up the surface, maybe that's it. Stuck to the nylon strap just fine!

I'm not real enamored with the strap solution anyway; the front hatch which didnt leak before, still didnt leak. But the rear hatch, which only leaked a little before, leaked like a sieve with the strap. I tightend up the bungee in that corner hoping that will help. That was after I pulled my back lifting the boat out of the pool:) Maybe it serves me right, being as I'm still too chicken to practice rolling in the ccccold water.

I'm inclined to mix a small batch of MAS and use that to glue the straps onto the edge of the hatch so they dont go over the seal. Or, I could just carry my keys with me.

: It sounds to me that you didn't let it cure long enough. Just because it says
: 5-minute doesn't mean it's fully cured by then. You just won't be able to
: move it around any more after 5 minutes. I personally like the 15 minute
: stuff because it's plenty fast enough and it seams to be pretty strong.
