OK to store boats in sunlight?

Since I am finally finishing up the varnishing on my two Pygmys (woohoo!), I'm now thinking about where to store them.
I have several possible spots around my yard that I could gin up a boat rack, but all of them receive lesser or greater amounts of sunlight.
How detrimental is it, if at all, to store completed and varnished boats in a location where they receive sunlight? Or should I be considering putting together an awning or sewing up some boat covers out of poly tarps?
I'm using Z-Spar Flagship for its high UV protection.
I live in Seattle, where the sunlight is of course not terribly intense.
